Mold Spore Air Sampling

      Why Conduct A Test:  A home’s air quality is critical to the comfort of the overall home, that of the occupants and their health.  Walking into a home with a musty odor is indicative of mold somewhere within the home. Mold growths release thousands of tiny spores into the air with only one purpose, to grow more mold.  These mold spores travel on air currents throughout the home, are not visible to the naked eye and unless growing in a visibly accessible area, can only be determined through laboratory analysis of carefully taken air samples.  Long term exposure to mold can lead to breathing problems and in some cases, severe health issues in occupants.

     How We Sample:  Utilizing Air-O-Cell cassettes to collect samples of free air particles we take a minimum of two samples, one outdoors as a baseline and at least one indoors.  One cassette is designed to effectively sample up to 1000 square feet of space.  If your home exceeds this amount a second or third sample should be taken to best sample the home’s entire living space. During the home inspection, if visible mold growth is discovered, a swab or tape lift can be taken and analyzed to provide a definitive answer about the mold.

     Who Tests Our Samples:  All samples are analyzed by EMSL Analytical Inc an accredited and certified independent laboratory located in Tampa, providing reports as quick as 24 hours after submission.
